They work as well as the Pochitto6, but sadly, they’re larger overall and won’t fit properly in my folio pen loops like the Pochitto6 style. I’ll still try to find a way to fit one at least and keep the others at my work desk instead.</p>

<figure class=""><a href="/assets/images/aadf74d9f81ad833.jpg" class="image-popup"><img src="/assets/images/aadf74d9f81ad833.jpg" alt="Photo of three six-stamp sets sitting on a piece of paper showing the marks the stamps made. <p>The left one was just for work anyhow. The food ones I won’t use, so I moved the pen and pin over to the middle set.</p>

Looks pretty good. It’s hard to tell from the writing sample photo, but there is some pleasant shading going on and maybe a tiny hint of greenish sheen.</p>

<figure class=""><a href="/assets/images/45a3f1fc0399327b.jpg" class="image-popup"><img src="/assets/images/45a3f1fc0399327b.jpg" alt="Photo of a TWSBI fountain pen (Fluorite Purple with Bronze) next to a fountain pen ink bottle and its box, and all of that is next to a writing sample. The ink is a dark red with some even darker shading. <p>The label on the bottle is a lenticular print that changes from the ink name to a drawing of Captain Hook. It’s pretty neat. None of the other Wearingeul bottles I have are like that. Or any other brand for that matter.</p>

<video src="/assets/images/5ec6ad69ff2a7880.mp4" controls="controls" alt="Video without audio of a camera angling up and down looking at an ink bottle. <p>Trying out a new scanner and it looks pretty good. Easier to see the shading this way. Not sure I’ll use it for everything, though, as there is no way it would capture sheen, chameleon shimmer, fluorescence, and so on.</p>

<p>I’m still trying to figure out what to ink it with. I’m leaning toward <a href="/2024/12/19/colorvent-day-19-milky-way">Colorverse Milky Way</a> (the pen I have that in now is getting low). If I didn’t have Tono &amp; Lims Antares in another nearly full ECO, I’d be using that instead.</p>

<p>As a bonus, it’s fairly fluorescent, like <a href="https://uvminerals.org/glownotes/minerals/fluorite-and-its-different-responses-under-uv-light/">its namesake mineral Fluorite</a>. A lot of my ECOs are, a few are not. I suspected it would be, and it’s good to have that confirmed.</p>

<p>All the rest (50+) will be full sets of cards. Long way to go.</p>

<p>Didn’t exactly go as neatly as I’d like, I was also using a new ink muddler and it holds ink differently than the tail end of the glass pen I had been using.</p>

<p>I found an inexpensive milligram scale and decided a fun way to try it would be to check how much these converters draw, and also how much they can hold when syringe filled.</p>

<p>I filled the converter alone (no pen/feed/section/etc) with plain water to make sure that 1g=1mL and so it was easy to clean up. Though for most purposes at these volumes ink is probably close enough to water to still be in the ballpark, there wasn’t a compelling reason to use ink instead of water here.</p>

<p>Results:</p>

<table>
  <thead>
    <tr>
      <th>Converter</th>
      <th>Full</th>
      <th>Draw</th>
      <th>Draw %</th>
    </tr>
  </thead>
  <tbody>
    <tr>
      <td>CON-40</td>
      <td>0.710mL</td>
      <td>0.350mL</td>
      <td>49.3%</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
      <td>Majohn A1</td>
      <td>0.679mL</td>
      <td>0.428mL</td>
      <td>63.0%</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>

      <td>0.673mL</td>
      <td>0.350mL</td>
      <td>52.0%</td>
    </tr>
  </tbody>
</table>

<p>Unsurprisingly, CON-40 is the worst at filling (by total capacity %), and Majohn is the best.</p>

<p>I was surprised that the Jinhao converter holds less than the CON-40 overall, yet draws the same amount. It always seemed better than the CON-40, but it’s the same, or even arguably worse since it holds slightly less when filled as much as possible.</p>

<p>Now for some bonus measurements from other converters I had empty and handy, but these won’t fit in the same pens as the previous set.</p>

<table>

    </tr>
    <tr>

      <td>0.648mL</td>
      <td>66.3%</td>
    </tr>
  </tbody>
</table>

<p>CON-70 is the clear winner, but it doesn’t fit nearly as many pens. I probably could have got it even closer to 100% if I kept trying.</p>

<p>CON-B holds a lot, but it is annoying since it’s an opaque squeeze filler.</p>

 A Study in Scarlet is a nice shade of dark red. It seems to be a little on the dry side which in a Kakuno means clean super-thin lines and it even doesn't bleed all over my Sunny Note Log, which is rare.

The marks match the icon on the stamp. From top to bottom they are: - A purple &quot;gray&quot; type alien with one hand up waving - A blue UFO - A gray Nightwalker - A purple Bigfoot - A green Kappa with &quot;I saw it&quot; written over it in Japanese - A blue Nessie " /></a></figure>

<p>On my previous post for the weather version of these stamps I mentioned that they fit well in larger pen loops, and here is a view inside my Galen Leather folio where I intend to keep them. The elastic on those sections holds them in just the right amount.</p>
