Good news and bad news. Bad news is I had my first shimmer ink clog (even in a TWSBI 580). Good news is a brass sheet saved the day. Quick swipe down the nib slit and another between the nib and feed and it's flowing freely again.

Yesterday I had tried a few other basic things with no success, but this fixed it instantly without having to empty the pen and give it a thorough cleaning.

Photo of a fountain pen on a paper towel. At the top of the image is a fountain pen, a TWSBI Diamond 580ALR in Sunset Yellow, which is actually closer to a dark yellow-orange color than yellow. At the bottom left of the image is a square sheet of thin brass which was used to clean the pen nib and clear the clog. To the right of that on the paper towel are a few specs of ink that were wiped from the brass. The ink is gold in color, not that different than the color of the pen or the brass sheet. It is Diamine Golden Sands, which is a shimmering ink that includes many tiny pieces of glitter. To the right of that is a small piece of paper with drawing and writing on it. There is a long line, and a few letters. The line shows a hard start (before the cleaning) where the nib was dragged across the paper a few millimeters before ink started to flow. The ink on the letters is complete and unbroken, it was after the cleaning. The letters themselves are not important as they were only used at a means to test ink flow. Letters visible are "XXX ABC", "Jackda" and "My".
