I inked up both Jinhao 80s with Diamine Sapphire Blue, which runs a bit on the dry side. You can see the difference between the UF/03 and EF/0.38.

First image is on Midori MD paper, second is in my Sunny Log Note Journal and the difference is much more apparent on there.

Using the crack gauge to measure the line width, it is spot on the claimed nib sizes on Midori MD.

I hope the incoming Jinhao 20 pens with 03 nibs are similar.

Photo of a writing sample and lines drawn on paper with two pens next to the paper. The pens only have the end of the caps visible. Top is blue, bottom is brown, both with gold clips. The writing sample reads "Jinhao 80 UF - Diamine Sapphire Blue" across the top with "UF03 XX , three vertical and horizontal lines, a circle, and three curlicues. Under that it is similar but "EF0.38" and the lines are slightly thicker. The bottom reads "Jinhao 80 EF - Diamine Sapphire Blue". To the right of the center are two large intersecting lines. A thinner one starting at the top that goes down and back up. Then a slightly thicker one that starts at the bottom and goes up and back down. Together they look like "XX"
Photo of a writing sample on paper. The first lines read "Inked / Jinhao 80 UF Blue / Diamine Sapphire Blue" The last lines read "Jinhao 80 EF Brown / Diamine Sapphire Blue" -- this writing sample is a bit thicker than the top one, making the letters appear bold in comparison.
Photo of a crack gauge with line thicknesses measurements in fractions of a millimeter. There is a line of blue ink across the 0.30mm gauge lines and it appears to match the thickness.
