The two transparent Jinhao 20 pens I ordered arrived today. Not too fond of the glitter in the plastic, but it's not overdone or distracting. It was in the listing, so not unexpected. I didn't notice the "gold" trim one had a gold tinted nib, though, that's a nice touch. I have a 10 with gold trim and it had a silver nib.

I immediately swapped in Majohn A1 converters so I can actually see the ink level at last.

Still pondering which inks to fill them with.

Photo of two capless fountain pens laying side by side. They are identical, except one has gold trim and the other has silver trim. They both are made of transparent plastic with some glitter mixed in. The mechanisms inside the pen are easily visible, including the spring near the tip and the clicker near the tail.
Close up of one fountain pen. It is focused on the transparent plastic body and the glitter mixed in the plastic.

Upon initial inspection with the endoscope, neither one showed light leaking in around the trapdoor itself or around the piece containing the trap door. That's a promising sign that they may seal well. I might still put some silicone grease around the trap door for good measure.

Nib looks decent, just didn't pick out inks in time to get them cleaned and filled today.

Endoscope photo of the inside of a pen. There is a circular plastic piece with a black gap/ring around it. Inside there, the inside of the trap door mechanism is visible. There is no light entering anywhere in those pieces.
