This is the new shelf on my dresser that replaces the little cabinet I had ink in. The old cabinet looked nicer, but it was shorter, narrower, less deep, and a good portion of this stuff was stacked on top. This also has more flat area on top for Lego.

I'm not 100% happy with how I have things arranged here yet but it's miles ahead of how it was, though it will be harder to get a specific ink if it's in the back. I need to find or make some pull-out trays maybe.

Photo of a "cubby" style rectangular shelf on top of a dresser. It is wider than it is tall. It is divided into 15 rectangular cubbies. In the cubbies are: Diamine ink, Pilot ink, more Pilot and Akkerman ink, tools and pens, several A5 notebooks that fit perfectly standing on their spine, and an A6 notebook, more Diamine and other misc ink, Tono & Lims ink, photopolymer stamps and ink, pen flush and samples, and some other personal care items (it is on top of a dresser, after all) On top is a container of electronics cleaning wipes and a leather folio. In front is a line of small flashlights and a metal "toolbox" style organizer.

This was sold as a "shoe" organizer but maybe for kids or people with much smaller feet than mine. I could maybe fit one shoe per compartment. But that does mean each cubby is quite deep (12in/30cm). It helps that I'm tall so I have no problems reaching everything. The dresser itself is quite tall (4ft/122cm), and this adds another 19"/49cm on top.

The way the A5 notebooks fit is perfect, though.
