Shockingly, I made it through to 2026 without panic buying any fountain pens before the recently posted price increases.
Overall, I did manage to drastically reduce my pen and ink purchases compared to 2024 since I moved beyond the "try everything" phase. Hoping for a further reduction in 2026 as I'm pretty well dialed in with regard to what I like and what I have already. I still won't declare a "no buy" as that's doomed to fail.
On a related note, I looked at the price on the VP Decimo 20th anniversary pen and promptly closed the tab. Yikes!
