Pilot Iroshizuku Asa-gao is indigo, often called “blurple” or bluish-purple. It has a little red sheen and a smidge of shading.
Scans
There is some slight variation in tint between the papers, but not much. The writing is wet and even on all papers.
Photos
The red sheen is quite visible in the large swatches, but not so much in the writing.
Microscope
Under magnification you can see the red sheen clinging primarily to the edges and boundaries where ink is heavier. It does cling to some of the foreground fibers, but it gives it more of a purple appearance instead of making it shiny.
Chromatography

The chromatography starts light blue, then goes cyan a while, then ends with purple and magenta.

Under UV the magenta glows brightly, but it didn’t translate to any noticeable effect in the swatches.
Verdict
Blurple/indigo is probably my favorite ink color, and Asa-gao is among my favorites inks in that area. Iroshizuku inks are reliably well-behaved and work wonderfully in every pen I’ve tried. I have a couple pens, such as one of my Vanishing Points, that almost exclusively use this ink repeatedly.
