Diamine Honey Burst, as the name suggests, looks like honey: Amber or golden brown. While technically it’s a dark red-orange, I’d consider it more of a brown, but it’s open to interpretation. It has some shading, and no sheen.
Scans
The scans are fairly accurate, there is quite a bit of variation in color between each paper type. In the writing samples, col-o-ring is uniformly darker, Iroful shades between dark and very light, and MD is in between.
Photos
There isn’t any typical sheen, but where the ink is heavy it can look shiny/sticky. On Iroful it looks like it has a bit more yellow behind it than red, especially in the light areas where it looks more gold.
Microscope
Up close it’s noticeable how different Iroful is compared to the others. While col-o-ring and MD have darker areas and some lighter spots behind, Iroful is much more even and smooth, even if its overall shade is lighter.
Chromatography

The chromatography starts with a gray line and then a lot of empty area, then bands of magenta and yellow.

Under UV the very leading edge of the yellow portion glows, and then some blue glow beyond that.
UV Check
The effect is subtle, but it does glow. It stays its own color, slightly brighter, rather than looking darker.
Verdict
This is a superb ink! Well-behaved, hasn’t ever given me any trouble. Very “does what it says on the tin” in terms of name accuracy. I use it year-round but it’s particularly well-suited for fall.
