A little lunchtime Kakuno family portrait.

Bottom arc of pens are from the Kakuno "family" set, each color has a different nib face design (L-R Pink, Blue, Green, Red, Cyan). Top pen is a typical Kakuno EF.

What can I say, they're fun. The world needs more fun. What's life without whimsy?

Unfortunately the "family" pens aren't available with EF nibs but this does let me finally branch out and try the other sizes.

Photo of six fountain pens, five across the bottom in an arc and one at the top center oriented upside down from the others. The nibs of all pens are visible with a small bit of section behind the nib. The fountain pen nib at the top has two eyes and a smiling mouth sticking out its tongue. Under the face is an indicator of the nib size "<EF>" denoting Extra Fine nib size. The bottom row of pens are, from left to right: - A fountain pen nib with a face composed of two eyes with single eyelashes curling up, a small smiling mouth, and a bow. Under the face is "<F>" for Fine nib size. - A fountain pen nib with a face composed of two eyes, a mustache, a small smiling mouth, and a tie. Under the face is "<M>" for Medium nib size. - A fountain pen nib with a face composed of two eyes and a circle inside a horizontal oval shape appearing to be a pacifier. Under the face is "<F>" for Fine nib size. - A fountain pen nib with a face composed of two eyes each with two eyelashes curling up, a small smiling mouth, and a necklace with a circle in the center. Under the face is "<F>" for Fine nib size. - A fountain pen nib with a face composed of two eyes and a wide smile with dimple lines on each end of the mouth. Under the face is "<F>" for Fine nib size.
