This is the slightly stained Jinhao Shark I cleaned last week. I'm guessing those are actually tiny cracks/fractures in the section that got filled with Yama-budo while I was filling it initially, or something leaked after. I can't feel those cracks with my fingernail or otherwise, and it wasn't leaking before I cleaned it, so it's probably still fine for now. Even if it's not, Sharks are ~$1.70 each so it's not a significant loss.

It looks interesting, at least.

Close up photo of a fountain pen, focused on where the nib and feed meet the section. The feed is black, and the section is while. The photo is taken at an angle, so the rear portion of the section is hidden by the feed. Around the border of the section are numerous purple lines radiating out from the center.

The photo is taken pointing straight down the pen, so the nib and feed are blurred while the end of the section is in focus. Around the border of the section are numerous purple lines radiating out from the center. They go all the way around the section.
