Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Day 1 is "Supergiant", a very bright red with a tad of orange. Also maybe a hint of sheen? Pretty nice overall. I like bold reds like this. Might be close to Diamine Wild Strawberry but not a dupe.

I'm still figuring out how I want to swatch, so I'm leaving room on cards so I have options.

I need to figure out a good way to fix my color balance, too. I have a color reference card in the shots that I cropped out but it wasn't enough. Tips?

Photo of an ink bottle on a silicone work mat. The bottle has a red label with text reading "Supergiant 15ml" -- The bottle label has a space theme and contains a ringed planet, a crescent moon, stars of various shapes and sizes, and a constellation indicated by lines connecting stars.
Collage of six photos of text on paper. Each photo consists of: - "Supergiant" written with an EF nib - "Supergiant" written with a stub nib - A swirl of ink made with a glass dip pen From the top left, the papers are: - Iroful Notebook - Tomoe River S Kanso - Clairefontaine Triomphe - Maruman Mnemosyne - Paperage Notebook - Midori MD Notebook

Upper left is text reading "#1 Supergiant" written in an EF nib and then a stub nib. Upper right is a large illustration of the James Webb telescope in negative space among swabbed ink. In the lower left is a small illustration of the Hubble space telescope with ink scribbled by a stub nib. In the middle right is a blob of swirled ink drawn by a glass dip pen. Lower right is text "Colorvent 2024".

Already noticing maybe I shouldn't do a bottle shot, or do one from further out, as the way Mastodon blurs the image still gives away the shade.

A little update on Day 1 (Supergiant) since I updated the swatch card. Plus some microscope pics.

In the microscope pics you can see some gold sheen that isn't all that visible in typical writing.

That makes it even more similar to Diamine Wild Strawberry, which looks a lot like this under microscope ( i.imgur.com/bXKP8MF.jpeg ).

Oops, forgot to include the pens I matched with the ink.
