Everyone talks about the Akkerman bottle inkwell neck (which is awesome) but another great thing is this stub under the cap. I'm not sure if its the intended purpose, but it prevents (or breaks) that little "bubble" of ink across the neck that sometimes happens when you open an ink bottle after agitating. I've had little ink droplets fly around when breaking the tension on that bubble with other inks.

Had to blow out the photo to see it because it's so dark.

Overexposed photo of a fountain pen ink bottle cap, inverted and laying on a paper towel next to a Pilot VP fountain pen nib unit. The cap has a long cylinder rising up from the underside of the lid, extending well past the height of the threaded part of the cap. The underside of the ink and that cylinder are coated in dark blue/purple ink.
