I tried a different approach to cleaning these pens that were dried out since I knew I wouldn't have time over the weekend.

Rather than clean them all at once, I loaded the converters with water, pushed some through the feed, added more back, then reassembled them and let them sit. Finished cleaning them today and didn't have any trouble flushing them the rest of the way.

Less effort overall, but a lot longer time-wise.

Lamy sections are still irritating, though.

Photo of 8 disassembled fountain pens on a paper towel. Each pen is separated into four parts: Nib+Section, Converter, Body, and Cap. They are all lined up with parts arranged nearly the same way. From left to right the pens are: Lamy Joy (black with red trim, 1.9mm Stub), Lamy Al-Star (Fiery Red, EF), Hongdian Black Forest Pro Carbon Fiber (EF), Jinhao 80 (Blue, UF03), Vazir Onyx (Black), Hongdian N11 (Silver Lozenge, EF), Hongdian 1861 (Raw Brass, Long Blade), Osprey Madison (Clear, Architect Broad)
