Ferris Wheel Press Tanzanite Sky is a dark indigo ink with some shading and dark red sheen.
The mineral Tanzanite can also be dark indigo with some dark red, so it fits well.
Scans
The shading is most prominent on Iroful and it also looks more blue there.
Photos
The sheen is all over the large swatch areas on col-o-ring and MD, while it’s more concentrated and shiny on Iroful.
The sheen shows in the writing on all three papers. On col-o-ring and MD it covers the writing and clings to the edges. On Iroful it follows the shading and is a bit shinier.
Microscope
Under magnification, the sheen is most concentrated at the edges of lines.
It still looks more blue under Iroful and also lighter than the other papers.
Chromatography
Chromatography starts a dull grayish purple then fades into a large magenta area that darkens into a wide magenta band. After that it fades out again followed by an area of mixed dark blue and cyan.
There is some red glow between the magenta and blue areas, and a little light blue glow after that. However, there was no effect on the swatches.
Verdict
I only have a sample of this, which I received during last year’s Fountain Pen Secret Santa exchange. I had it inked in a Kakuno with an EF nib for several months and it worked decently there. To me, it looks best on Iroful paper.
That said, it looks nice, but I’m not sure I’d buy more. I am not a fan of the maker or their bottles, so I’m not sure it would be worth any potential hassle when I already have so many other inks. I’ll definitely use the rest of the sample, though.
