Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Day 12 is "Sunbeam", a dark yellow-brown. It shades well, but that's about the only good thing.

This is a huge miss for me. I think it was aiming for gold but whiffed. Too much brown (and there are hints of green in there, too). If you want a usable and more pleasant yellow, look at Diamine Sunshine Yellow or the upcoming Pilot Iroshizuku To-ro.

Pen is a Pilot Kakuno Family "Baby" (Yellow, Fine)

Photo of a "Colorverse Colorspace Size C" swatch card, type 2 which is based on the Hubble space telescope. The ink on the card is a dark yellow-brown with darker shading areas where ink has pooled. Upper left is text reading "#12 Sunbeam" written in an EF nib and then a stub nib. Just to the left side of the middle at the top is a large illustration of the Hubble space telescope in negative space among swabbed ink. In the middle right side is text "Hubble Space Telescope NASA" in negative space among scribbled ink. In the middle left is text reading "You are 336.2mi from Earth" in negative space among ink scribbles. In the middle lower left is a blob of swirled ink drawn by a glass dip pen. Near the center are "Mars" and "Uranus" with circles representing those planets, in more swabbed ink. Lower right is text "Colorvent 2024". Laying across the card is a Pilot Kakuno fountain pen, which is transparent yellow-green.
Collage of six photos of text on paper. Each photo consists of: - "Sunbeam" written with an EF nib - "Sunbeam" written with a stub nib - A swirl of ink made with a glass dip pen The ink color is the same for all: A dark yellow-brown. In areas where ink has pooled, the color is darker and much more brown. From the top left, the papers are: - Maruman Mnemosyne - Clairefontaine Triomphe - Paperage Notebook - Iroful Notebook - Midori MD Notebook - Tomoe River S Kanso
Photo of ink on paper. Paper fibers are visible. The lighter areas are a dark yellow. The darker areas are nearly brown with a little green mixed in.
Photo of ink blob on paper. Paper fibers are visible. The edge of the blob is very brown with a little green mixed in. Away from the edge it is more yellow, but still dark.

Something about this one for me is triggering a sort of primal "yuck" response and this may show why. When this ink was on a wet paper towel it sort of looked like a mix of wound-related body fluids. No thanks.

Photo of a paper towel and lint-free swab. Both have ink on them. The ink on the swab is very dark brown, maybe a little yellow, and a little green. The ink on the paper towel is mostly yellow but also a sickly green and some red/pinkish areas.
