Speaking of nibs, the nib on my Hongdian N11 is losing some of its plating. I thought the green was ink, since I did have green ink in it (Diamine Apple Glory), but it could be oxidation or corrosion since it isn't coming off and where I was able to scrape the green away it's bare metal underneath.

It was that way before it ever touched the ultrasonic cleaner or I'd think it was from that. Might not have helped, though!
