Wearingeul Captain Hook is from their Peter and Wendy series of inks. It’s a dark red with coppery sheen, similar in some ways to Diamine Red Dragon, though Captain Hook is slightly lighter. It has a very small amount of shading.

Scans

Each paper is slightly different. It looks a little “rosier” on Iroful, for example. I like MD the best, though.

Photos

The copper sheen is quite evident in the large swatches, but it’s barely visible in the writing.

There are some hints of the sheen around the edges of some letters, but it isn’t much and it isn’t consistent.

Microscope

There are still only hints of the sheen under magnification, except on the large swatches.

Chromatography

It starts with a gray line then slowly fades into a large area of magenta and finishes with a dark magenta band at the end.

There is a slight blue halo past the leading edge, but nothing else.

Bottle

The bottle has a lenticular label with an image of Captain Hook, which is rather neat!

Verdict

I had hoped this would be a bit more different than other reds I already have, but it’s much closer to Diamine Red Dragon than I expected. I do like it, especially the bottle, but it’s not a very unique color for me.
