TWSBI hasn't sold a red or purple Diamond 580 ALR pen in years, but they have this "Grape" Diamond Mini AL. I hesitated due to its size, but it's nice. I prefer the 580, but I can write well even w/o posting this one. The cap threads on the back and makes it even more comfortable.

It's still large for a pocket pen, and I'm not sure I'd trust TWSBI in a pocket, but it's more portable.

Also can't pass up a chance to show Date Gokoro changing color on different paper.

Photo of a fountain pen and two writing samples taken from the top down. The fountain pen is a TWSBI Diamond Mini AL in "Grape" color. It is a piston filler with a clear body and bright purple accents fitting for its color name. Purple ink can be seen inside the pen. Both writing samples read "TWSBI Diamond Mini AL Grape / Sailor Date Gokoro". The top sample is on Iroful dot grid paper and is a deep, dark purple, somewhat blue-ish. The bottom sample is on Midori MD paper and is much brighter purple, closer to the color of the pen itself.
Photo of a fountain pen and two writing samples taken from an oblique angle. The fountain pen is a TWSBI Diamond Mini AL in "Grape" color. It is a piston filler with a clear body and bright purple accents fitting for its color name. Purple ink can be seen inside the pen. From this angle, the tip of the cap is visible, it is read and contains the TWSBI logo in silver.
Photo of three TWSBI fountain pens taken from the top down. All three are piston fillers which have clear bodies and colored accents. The top pen is a TWSBI ECO in Slate Blue Onyx with black accents. Its cap is opaque and slate blue, like the accents. The middle pen is a TWSBI Diamond 580 ALR in Nickel with silver accents. It is slightly longer than the ECO and much longer than the Mini. The bottom pen is the TWSBI Diamond Mini AL in Grape with silver accents. It is much shorter than the other two pens and thinner as well.
Photo of a single fountain pen at an angle on a light blue background. The fountain pen is a TWSBI Diamond Mini AL in "Grape" color. It is a piston filler with a clear body and bright purple accents fitting for its color name. The ink chamber is empty except for a water droplet, suggesting it was recently cleaned.
