Ink Swatch - Pilot Iroshizuku - Momiji

Pilot Iroshizuku Momiji (“autumn leaves”) is a bright red that leans toward pink or magenta. It has a lot of gold sheen and a tiny bit of shading.

Scans

As usual, it looks darker on col-o-ring. It looks lighter and pinker on Iroful. MD looks a little rosy but it’s still more red.

Photos

The gold sheen is everywhere, but it’s not quite an “extreme sheen” ink. It shows in the writing but not as much as the large swatches suggest.

Microscope

The gold sheen shows up heavily around wide swaths of the edges and foreground fibers. Iroful looks even more pink up close.

Chromatography

It fades into a long and dark strip of magenta, then beyond that separates into bands of orange and red

The magenta area glows a little, but the leading edge glows extra bright.

It glows very bright red under UV, even the writing! There are also some areas of orange in the swab across the cap and around the edges.

Verdict

This is a near-perfect red ink. Though it can be a wee bit too pinkish at times for me, that’s its only real flaw. I use it regularly, and am a good way through my 30ml bottle. When that’s gone I’ll definitely have to buy a larger bottle.
