Ink Swatch - Graf von Faber-Castell - Stone Grey

Graf von Faber-Castell Stone Grey is a medium gray ink with some shading and a tiny bit of gold sheen.

I didn’t test for water resistance but the product listing says it is “document proof”.

The shading is prominent on Iroful, and happens a little on MD as well.

No sign of the sheen in writing, but the shading looks nice.

There are only minute traces of the sheen in the writing here, a little more on Iroful.

Chromatography

Chromatography strip scan

Chromatography starts with a gray line and spreads into a little gray and then blue. That makes me think their claim of it being water-resistant has some merit.

There is some blue glow and a blue line way past the end of the ink, but no noticeable glow in the swatches.

Verdict

I only have a sample of this which I received during last year’s Fountain Pen Secret Santa gift exchange, and haven’t used it much beyond this swatch. I’m not a huge fan of gray inks in general, but this one looks good. The ink being water-resistant is a big plus as well.
